Delhi V/S Rajasthan

Both teams on a roll - who can ride the Momentum?

The Delhi Capitals’ camp has been hit by COVID-19 as Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert have both tested positive for the virus. Two other support staff members have also tested positive.Let's hope this doesn't get out of control and all is fine 🤞

1/ It’s straightforward for RR. Win the toss 🪙, bat first 🏏, win the match 🎉. To break the spell, DC must win the toss and choose to bat first. Goes against everything that’s been happening so far. Sanju Samson, you have one job.

2/ David Warner is key 🔑 - He’s in form and he’s looking dangerous. He strikes at 168 against Chahal and has gotten out only once to him. Can he be the man to take on Chahal?

Warner must stay wary of Ashwin though 😨, who’s gotten him out 3 times. Maybe Ashwin can do his spin partner a favour and be the main man for RR?

Send 'em Smacks

1/ Chahal is coming off a hat-trick. Chahal is the leading-wicket taker and holds the purple cap 🧢 Seems like he gets revenge for locker room bullying on the field. Oh RCB, regretting not retaining him yet? 😞

2/ Jos Buttler already has 2 hundreds. The record in the IPL is 4 held by King Kohli 👑 or should we say former king. A smart man would bet on Jos breaking that record. RR have the best batsmen and the best bowler in the IPL. Must be nice to be part of that camp 🏕️

3/ It’s time for Lord Shardul Thakur to step up 🔱. He’s got Buttler out 2 times and Paddikal out 3 times. Fancy him opening the bowling and sending them both back to the dugout in the first over?

WTF Is That?

Switch-Hit

Continuing with the theme of batsmen moving around and hitting weird (and innovative) shots.

A switch hit is a shot where the batsman switches from their left-hand to the right or vice versa by changing their stance and grip, during the bowler's delivery action.

Why do this?

It’s simple. The opposing team sets fielders based on your batting stance. If you are right-handed, the field is set for that. If you change to a left-handed stance, there will be no fielders where you are trying to hit.

This will almost always lead to a 4️⃣ or 6️⃣ if executed well.

There’s been a lot of controversy if this should be legal or not, but that’s for another day. One thing is certain though, it’s beautiful to watch when done well 👀
