Can Mumbai (finally) get their first win of the tournament?

Oh Mumbai, what is it going to take for you to win a game? Despite a spirited bowling performance in their last outing, they were undone by some good old Dhoni magic, as he guided CSK to a victory on the last ball 🍾 making Mumbai the first team in IPL history to lose their opening 7 out of 7 games. 😑 Eeeek that's not a good record to have 🚫

LSG too are coming off the back of a loss against RCB, but actually won the reverse leg on 16th April. KL Rahul smashed a brilliant hundred on that day. Can Krunal Pandya and team add more misery to his faltering (and how) former team? 🤔 

KYC (Know Your Cricket)

1/ Both teams are struggling with losing too many wickets in the powerplay, and not capitalizing on the favorable field setting. Rohit Sharma of MI has gotten out in the powerplay 6 times in 7 matches so far while KL Rahul has two first ball ducks to his name. Key area of improvement for both teams 💪

2/ Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) has arguably been one of the (veeeeery) few shining lights for MI so far. He has scored above 30 in each game he has played so far and is striking at 153.6. If only his teammates supported him.... 😔

But.. he will have to be weary of one leggie by the name of Ravi Bishnoi. The 21 year old has gotten him out 3 out of the 4 times they have faced each other. 😲

Send 'em Smacks

1/ LSG captain KL Rahul ALWAYS seems to perform against MI. In 15 innings so far, he has smacked a ridiculous 764 runs against them, averaging 76.4. He also hit 103 (60) against them one week ago. Surely he can't do it again, can he?

2/ Daniel Sams bowled really well against CSK, with impressive figures of 4-30. The problem is that he has not bowled at this level consistently enough, when given the chance. So, which Sams will show up for tonight's game? Will the real Daniel Sams, please stand up?  ️‍🔥

WTF Is That?

Powerplay

A Powerplay is when field restrictions are set, to allow the batters to play more aggressive shots, while they settle into the rhythm of the game. The powerplay in T20 cricket lasts for 6 overs, with only two fielders allowed outside the 30 yard circle. After 6 overs, this number is increased to 5.

Why is it done?

- Batters can take more risks and play expansive shots as they still try to understand the conditions of the game

- Helps teams get to a bigger run total, if they utilize the powerplay well

- Its's more entertaining for fans like you and me!
